This land was purchased on 18th Aug 1993. Sri Swamiji wanted to buy a small piece of land to lead a life of penance in aloof. Now with pleasure we can understand that the Almighty on the other hand made him buy such a vast land for the sake of ensuring great endeavours in the future.

Vasthu Puja was performed on 27th Aug 1993, in a grand manner. More than 300 people participated in it. The foundation laid for this Ashramam is in fact the prayer done by the Sadhus who participated in large number. Pujya Sri Swami Dayanandaji inaugurated the Ashramam on 09th June 1995

Jagadguru Sri Sringeri Sankaracharya Swamiji visited this Ashramam on 22nd March 1995 and planted a Vatavriksha. He prayed for the well being of the Acharya, for Brahmacharis to come and learn in a large scale and for them to be endowed with the Jnana and Vairagya.

The Acharya of the Ashramam, Sri Swami Omkarananda, is a renowned scholar in Tamil and Sanskrit scriptures. With an excellent command over Tamil, Swamiji has been addressing vast audiences all over Tamilnadu and disseminating the message of Vedas. The Ashramam follows Gurukula system adopted to our times.
